Training And Maintenance
Once you have produced your product designs, how do you relay them to your production engineers in a clear, language neutral and unambiguous way without increasing your training overheads?
When the products have been delivered, how do you provide your customers and engineers with accurate high quality product and support information whilst at the same time reducing their cost of production to you?
With 3DVIA Composer you can rapidly produce fully 3D, interactive support and maintainability information directly from your CAD data irrespective of its format, annotate it for clarity and quickly keep it up to date as your products develop.
What does this mean to me?
Quite simply this provides the ability to..
- Dramatically reduce your first run manufacturing training and support information production times.
- Increase flexibility of resource through reduced product specialisation.
- Produce clear and concise training and support information through visual walk throughs of operations.
- Distribute the information as a 3D deliverable for FREE to your entire manufacturing and support organisations.
- Improve quality through reduced interpretation; i.e. make fewer errors or reduced concessions.
- Dramatically reduce required support documentation.
- Improve support information portability, e.g. hand-held sequences.
- Reduce overall product development time by starting your maintenance definition well before the design is even finished.
- Easy creation of product variant training.
In addition to these benefits, you also have the opportunity to reduce your training overhead costs, such as design office support or maybe even the need for a trained CAD seat.
Don’t forget, the CAD data needed to produce this information, has already been produced, so why not use what is already there?
What can I actually do with the software?
To be honest, it's more a question of what can’t you do with it.
Assembly Sequence Production
Produce animations incorporating positioning, explosion, transparencies, selective cross sectioning, viewing positions, highlighting, colouring, textures and sequence reversal.
Hot Spot Driven Navigation
Hotspot the 3D assembly, so your users can decide what to maintain/train, rather than having to see the entire sequence.
Hyper-Linking
Hyper-link components, labels or in fact anything to launch web pages, PDF or Word documents, or any other deliverables, allowing you to link to your existing support information.
Views
Manipulate, hide, explode, apply transparency, annotate, markup and then capture each state of the model or animation as any number of ‘View’s to produce your training snapshots.
Tooling & Fixtures
Easily produce your own library of fixtures and tooling to simply drag into the model and use to enhance the sequence creation.
Outputs
Once produced, you can view the file in the FREE viewer, apply levels of access control to the data, embed the file into Powerpoint, PDF or deploy onto the intranet/internet.
Update It All
Remember that all your information can be quickly and simply updated through associativity with the source CAD data. If the CAD data updates, you can choose to update also.
Batch Production
If you are happy with your deliverables, the 3DVIA Sync tools can update all your assembly information automatically every time a design update is detected (optional).
Integration
3DVIA insist on being open for integration through its XML format. With this approach there is no protectionism of data. You can integrate with any other open system.
