Manufacturing
How are you producing your planning instructions today? Powerpoint? ...a mixture of screen grabs from your CAD system? ...photos of prototypes and drawings? or perhaps you are still using textual planning procedures.
How long does it take you to produce these, and what happens to your instructions when the design changes?
Perhaps you are in the process of off-shoring your production to a country that may not be familiar with the language and are concerned about the interpretation of the procedure once it gets there?
With 3DVIA Composer you can rapidly produce fully 3D, interactive manufacturing assembly sequences directly from your CAD data irrespective of its format, annotate it for clarity and quickly keep it up to date as your design evolves with the added bonus of FREE distribution to the consumer.
What does this mean to me?
Quite simply this provides the ability to..
- Dramatically reduce your first run manufacturing sequence production times.
- Provide validation that the product can be assembled before the design is finished.
- Distribute the entire sequence as a 3D deliverable for FREE to whoever needs it.
- Reduce re-do work through design changes to a minimum.
- Reduce overall product development time by starting your sequence definition well before the design is even finished.
- Improve accuracy and quality by producing a direct representation of the product data, not an interpretation.
- Incorporate MRP information through straightforward integration with your systems.
In addition to these benefits, you also have the opportunity to reduce your planning overhead costs, such as design office support or maybe even the need for a trained CAD seat.
What can I actually do with the software?
To be honest, it's more a question of what can’t you do with it.
Assembly Sequence Production
Produce animations incorporating positioning, explosion, transparencies, selective cross sectioning, viewing positions, highlighting, colouring, textures and sequence reversal.
Views
Manipulate, hide, explode, apply transparency, annotate, markup and then capture each state of the model or animation as any number of ‘View’s to produce your assembly snapshots.
Annotation & Styles
Quickly apply attribute driven or free form annotations, labels, arrows, panels, images and highlights from your set of custom ‘Style’s.
Tooling & Fixtures
Easily produce your own library of fixtures and tooling to simply drag into the model and use to enhance the sequence creation.
Outputs
Once produced, you can view the file in the FREE viewer, apply levels of access control to the data, embed the file into Powerpoint, PDF or deploy onto the intranet/internet.
Update It All
Remember that all your sequences can be quickly and simply updated through associativity with the source CAD data. If the CAD data updates, you can choose to update also.
Batch Production
If you are happy with your sequences, the Seemage Sync tools can update all your assembly information automatically every time a design update is detected.
Integration
Seemage insist on being open for integration through its XML format. With this approach there is no protectionism of data. You can integrate with any other open system.
